|  Chy-an-Gerra is a small and friendly Guest House. It is an historic listed building situated in one of the finest positions in Saint Ives, directly overlooking Porthminster Beach and with uninterrupted views across Saint Ives Bay looking up the North Cornish coastline towards Padstow.
Chy-an-Gerra was built in 1860 by the Duke of Mornington and was previously owned by Sir Edward Hain. Our guest house is extremely well-appointed and features four double bedrooms with one twin room. All rooms feature luxurious fully tiled en-suite bathrooms, some with “Mira” mixer showers. All designed with our guests’ comfort in mind.
It is easy to understand that most of our bookings are return guests, whether it is regular weekend guests or friends enjoying their annual summer holiday.
We have a large on-site car park at the rear of the property, alternatively we are 200 metres from the bus station or 400 metres from the railway station.
The owners are always on hand to recommend local pubs and restaurants in the town which is only a few minutes’ walk away, or to advise on coastal walks and places to visit.
For breakfast we offer a Full and excellent (grilled) English Breakfast or a vegetarian option. We also cater for special dietary requirements.
St Ives, located in magical Cornwall, is a truly magnificent combination of olde worlde charm and Cornish tradition. Discovered by artists in the 19th century, it is world famous for its art colony culminating in the 1993 opening of the Tate Gallery.
St Ives is an excellent choice for a holiday base in easy reach of the Eden Project, Lands End, Mousehole and The Lizard. Returning in the evening to the many good quality and nationally recommended restaurants and café society plus the numerous Cornish pubs.
Should there be anything you feel we should be made aware of in order to ensure your comfort and safety whilst you are with us, please do not hesitate to inform us. Our bedrooms are situated on the first and second floors and our guest house does not have a lift. Although we have a bedroom on the ground floor the entrance to the guest house has several steps. If this causes a problem we need to be notified.
